Search a Support

The term "support" is used to refer to the artifact or monument upon which sigla are or other elements may appear. All the information about the support is directly relevant to the interpretation of the siglum. Thus it is important for the user to furnish all appropriate data about the support: the site or museum from which it comes, its inventory number, details about its nature as an artifact or monument, its date, and pertinent bibliography. After the support is entered on the database, documentation proceeds to the "element" page. There the user enters all pertinent information about each siglum apposed on the support. One support may and often does feature more than one siglum. In each case, the user proceeds from the "support" page.
