User Roles & Permissions
Understand your access level
Learn about the different user roles in our platform and what each role is allowed to do. Your permissions depend on your assigned role and the sites you have access to.
How Roles Work
Our platform uses a role-based access control system. Your role determines what you can see and do. If you don't have any sites assigned, you will have GUEST access with basic functionality.
GUEST
The 'guests' have the possibility to view and carry out searches on all the supports and on all the sigla or other elements inserted in the DB, which are made explicitly visible by the internal users of the system. These include entries that are visible but not yet validated.'Guests' can log in automatically with a username and password. External visitors are prevented from making data entries and modifications. A guest can search support and elements, save searches and ask to become a recorder.
Requirements
No assigned sites.
What you can do
- View personal profile
- Request access to manage sites
Limitations
- Cannot manage any sites
RECORDER
users at this level, also called simple users, can perform any search on media and elements.
They can only insert the supports and elements of the archaeological site or archaeological sites for which they have authorization. They can modify, delete and intervene only on their own entries (a Recorder A cannot modify, delete or intervene on the insertions of a Recorder B who operates on the sigla of the same archaeological site).
If a Recorder wants to change his username or password he must request the change from a Supervisor or Director.
Requirements
Assigned to one or more specific sites.
What you can do
- All GUEST permissions
- Record and enter data for assigned sites
Limitations
- Access limited to assigned sites only

SUPERVISOR
Supervisors can carry out any research on supports and elements.
They are the supervisors of entries relating to a site or multiple sites. They can insert, modify, delete their own personal insertions of supports and elements. All records entered by Supervisors are automatically validated.
They can modify, delete and intervene on the entries of Recorders who work on the same sites.).
They only have access to some entries in the ADMIN section: USERS, SUPPORTS AND ELEMENTS TO BE VALIDATES, BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES.
